HAIR AND MAKEUP
I love to recommend adding professional hair and makeup before your session, even if you like a more natural look! You can express your preferences to a makeup artist and they will know how to make your skin camera ready without looking like you are wearing a ton of makeup. The majority of my senior clients do opt for hair and makeup, but if you are more comfortable doing your own makeup for any reason, that is totally fine! If you are opting for a session where we are doing more than three outfits, I strongly recommend enlisting the help of a professional because the longevity will likely be far better than most of us can replicate at home! That helps us feel confident heading into a 2-3 hour long session with potential for wind, sweat and other factors that will challenge your hair and makeup. Imperfections are natural, but a professional can help your styling hold much longer than usual!
WHAT TO WEAR
This part is totally up to you, but I have some tips and tricks that can help the decision making process! I always recommend bringing a variety of outfits - from casual to dressy! For girls, a favorite dress or romper and heels, cute jeans and a bright colored sweater, your favorite top and shorts etc! For fall, layers, boots and sweaters are my favorites, for spring and summer, rompers and summery dresses are amazing! Don’t be afraid to add a pop of color! Blue, teal, burgundy and berry colors look great on most people and soft pastels flatter a wide variety of skin tones as well. Wear styles that make you feel confident and comfortable and don’t be afraid to throw in an outfit that is outside the box! For guys, I love a classic Henley type shirt or a collared button up. And don't be afraid to layer! Adding a cool jacket or layering a collared shirt under a sweater are a couple great ways to mix it up! Feel free to browse through my blog to see what photographs well and which styles you like!
